Our Technology

Sirona 3D X-Ray Imaging

At the dental office of Creedmoor Road General Dentistry we use the latest and greatest in dental technology to ensure that your visits are as smooth and gentle as possible. We use the latest Sirona 3D X-ray imaging machines that allow Dr. Allen and staff to see and assess problems that would often go undiagnosed with standard 2D technology. Using these machines your Raleigh dentist can plan dental implants and dental crowns in 3 dimensions. This technology is a great asset in the use of CEREC one visit dental crowns.

Sirona 3D X-Ray Technologies

3D X-Rays are far superior to standard 2D X-Ray imaging. As we mentioned above, 3D X-Ray imaging can be used in the planning and implementation process of dental implants and dental crowns. The technology allows for extreme accuracy and meticulous treatment planning. Dr. Allen is able to virtually plan out the dental crown process in 3 dimensions on the computer, before ever performing the procedure in the patient's mouth! This not only reduces the number of surprises that could be encountered during the surgical process but also eliminates the need for exploratory surgery.

3D X-Rays may not be necessary for all dental procedures and each patient will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Sirona One Visit Dentistry

Dr. Allen uses CEREC technology to create high-quality porcelain dental crowns during a single visit to his North Raleigh dentist office. CEREC uses CAD/CAM digital technology to design and mill custom crowns for immediate placement.

The process will begin with digital impressions that will be used to make a custom fit and color matched porcelain dental crown. These digital impressions allow for a high degree of accuracy and control over the entire process, resulting in a custom dental crown that will last for many years with proper dental care.

After the CEREC machine mills your ceramic crown, Dr. Allen will permanently secure it to the tooth and make any necessary adjustments for a snug and comfortable fit. See our dental crowns page for more information.

The Wand® - Painless Dental Injections

We understand that not all patients are comfortable with receiving injections, yet local anesthetic is needed to complete a number of dental treatments. Whether you had a bad experience in the past or have always cringed at the sight of a needle, the innovative technology known as The Wand® helps put those fears aside.

The Wand® (Single Tooth Anesthesia/CompuDent®) is a computer controlled dental injection that provides patients with minimal discomfort. The device administers the local anesthetic at a controlled slow and steady rate which helps diminish the pain or stinging typically associated with dental injections. Also, the device is able to efficiently numb a small selected area so you don't feel half of your face is numb when leaving the office.

Patient Benefits:

  • Significantly more comfortable than syringe
  • Reduces dental anxiety/fear
  • Site specific numbing - can go back to work without a numb face
  • Accurate amount of anesthetic administered
  • Greater satisfaction of dental procedure
